Our Commitment to Equality

We are committed to creating a school where every child feels valued, safe, and able to succeed. Equality is at the heart of everything we do. We celebrate individuality, challenge discrimination, and ensure that all pupils have access to high‑quality learning experiences.

Our approach is guided by the Equality Act 2010, which protects pupils and staff from discrimination related to protected characteristics such as age, disability, race, religion or belief, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, and marriage or civil partnership.

How We Promote Equality Through Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to help children understand the world around them and appreciate diversity. We do this by:

• Embedding equality themes across subjects such as PSHE, history, and English
• Teaching British Values including mutual respect, tolerance, and individual liberty
• Celebrating key events such as Black History Month and International Women’s Day.

Working With Our Community

We believe equality is a shared responsibility. We work closely with families, governors, and external partners to ensure our policies and practices reflect the needs of our community. We welcome feedback and collaboration to help us continue improving.

As a school, we meet the Public Sector Equality Duty by:

• Fostering good relations between people with different backgrounds and characteristics

We publish annual equality objectives and review our progress regularly.
